Scott’s roots are deep in the South. With a lifetime spent in the timber and landscaping industries, his knowledge of the Lowcountry land is matched only by his love for it. That experience gave him a professional respect for the terrain—and a low tolerance for gear that fails. He knows the value of equipment that actually holds up to briars, salt spray, and seasons of real work.

Sarah’s love for the outdoors began in the Midwest, exploring the woods and waters of Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Though her career took her into the structured world of finance, she never lost that free spirit. She was just cultivating the tools needed for the right moment to reclaim it.

Blackwater Lotus Co. was born from a shared realization. When Sarah moved to the coast, we saw the opportunity to combine our strengths—Scott’s deep love and knowledge of the land and Sarah’s consistent drive to connect with it—to build something meaningful.
